The RTOOLS CX40 sensor is a product of high stability and durability. It provides effective gas detection, increasing the safety of you and your family.

It can be used both standalone and connected to a network thanks to the NC/NO relay output.

✅ SENSOR APPLICATION AREAS:

• Domestic rooms equipped with gas stoves, boiler rooms with natural gas or LPG furnaces, rooms where gas appliances are located, such as: cylinders, meters, tanks, gas pipes.
• Garages for cars with gas installations, school chemistry and physics laboratories.
• The sensor can also be installed in cars and caravans, on boats and motor yachts and anywhere where 12V DC power supply is available.

✅ CONNECTION DIAGRAM

The sensor is powered by 12V DC (P1 12V+ and P2 12V-).

• OUT1 and OUT2 (NO/NC): Relay outputs for "normal open/normal closed" type connection.
• SIG1 and SIG2: Intended for valve connection (requires adaptation).

✅ DEVICE INSTALLATION

Correct installation is key to the sensor's effectiveness. Install it near the gas source, at a distance no greater than 2.5 meters.

1. Gases lighter than air (natural gas): Installation at a higher level.
2. Gases heavier than air (LPG): Installation at a lower level.

After turning on the power, the device goes through 3 statuses:

1. Warming up: The red LED flashes once, and the speaker emits a single beep.
2. Normal status (Startup): The green LED flashes once per minute for about 3 minutes.
3. Monitoring status: The green LED is on continuously.

In alarm mode (at 6% LEL):

• The LED indicator will turn red and start flashing.
• The speaker will start emitting beeps.
• The frequency of alarm signals depends on the gas concentration - the higher the concentration, the higher the frequency.

Testing and maintenance:

• Test: In monitoring mode, press the S1 button on the PCB (checking siren/LED operation) or fill the opening with gas (e.g., from a gas lighter) for at least 5 seconds. If a visual and audible alarm is generated, the sensor is working correctly.
• Maintenance: The sensor should be cleaned regularly (remove dust, oil, and moisture), as sensitivity depends largely on the cleanliness of the detection area.
